Kota Kinabalu: Sabah can benefit from flare gas as a rich source of energy, particularly for its megawatt power supply.
“Based on data available on FlareIntel, we could see that there is a total of 44 Million Standard Cubic Feet per Day (MMSCFD) of flare gas available in the State, and mind you this is only from the offshore sites,” said Ahmad Fairuz Yahaya, managing director of EXS Synergy Sdn Bhd.
He said that the figure alone did not account for onshore facilities like the Sabah Oil and Gas Terminal (SOGT), which also flares gas.
