SANDAKAN: Karamunting Community Development Leader Datuk Chew Kok Woh said that instead of fighting over issues involving traditional foods like Bak Kut Teh, politicians should concentrate on the country’s economic recovery.
He said this in reaction to the recent debate at the Dewan Rakyat regarding Bak Kut Teh’s inclusion on the list of traditional foods in Malaysia.
Datuk Mohd Suhaimi Abdullah (PN-Langkawi) was quoted as saying that the 10 most popular traditional food in Malaysia does not have Bak Kut Teh listed in it, in fact 30 traditional foods of various races in the country also do not have that type of dish.
