KUCHING: Three burglars were caught on CCTV breaking into a home in Kuching just to steal food.
The incident occurred on Saturday morning at a house on Jalan Stampin Tengah.
Kuching police chief Ahsmon Bajah said the CCTV footage from the house showed the trio breaking into the house and going to the kitchen to steal food.
He said investigating officers had managed to arrest one suspect so far.
“The suspect has four convictions for criminal and drug-related offences. The suspect also tested positive for methamphetamine,” he added.
Police also found housebreaking equipment, including a hammer, steel cutter, screwdriver, scissors and a parang, at the suspect’s house.
He said police were tracking down the other two suspects.
