SIPITANG: A woman in her 20s sustained injuries when her Perodua Axia crashed along Jalan Kampung Patarikan Sindumin here Sunday.
In the 12.13pm accident, District Fire and Rescue Station Chief Calvin Joe Jeafery said the car driven by the woman turned turtle.
Passers-by sent the victim to the hospital before the firefighters reached the scene.
Meanwhile, the Fire and Rescue Department received an emergency call about a bushfire involving a three-acre orchard in Kampung Marintaman at about 5.07pm.
Calvin Joe reminded the public to avoid starting an open fire during the dry season as it might quickly spread to other areas.
“Do not throw cigarette butts or burn rubbish indiscriminately, as these are some of the main causes of fire,” he said.
Those found to conduct open burning can also be slapped with a compound or a fine.
