Return Article 95(c) to its original form: Mazliwati
“When read together with Article 4, the Borneo States actually have their own Constitutions which is the supreme law. But after the amendment, only the Federal Constitution is supreme,” Mazliwati said in a statement, Saturday.
Kota Kinabalu: Warisan Supreme Council member Mazliwati Datuk Malek Chua urged for Article 95(c) of the Federal Constitution to be returned to its original form so that the Borneo States are of equal standing to the Federation of Malaya and be accorded supreme status.

Article 95(c) was incepted after the Malaysia Agreement of 1963 was included in the Federal Constitution via the Malaysia Act 23/63.

Initially, Article 95(c) was read to include “a Borneo State” which was later amended in 1965 as “any State”.
