Kota Kinabalu: A Year One schoolgirl died while another 15-year-old schoolgirl was critically injured after the car they were in crashed into a lorry on Jalan Lintas-Kolombong, opposite Starbucks, early Monday.
The seven-year-old victim died on the spot, while the 59-year-old woman driver suffered minor injuries in the 5.30am accident.
Both girls are believed to be neighbours staying in Taman Kemajuan Likas.

A Fire and Rescue Services Department spokesman said they received a distress call at 5.48am and rushed to the scene.
The three victims were stuck in the vehicle and had to be helped out by firemen.
“Two of them were given first aid by health personnel at the scene,” said the spokesman, adding that the younger girl, who was sitting at the back, was declared dead at the scene by a medical officer at 6.15am.
The 39-year-old lorry driver, who was believed to be heading towards Penampang from Tawau, escaped unscathed.
