LABUAN: Labuan Corporation (LC) has allocated RM1.2 million for upgrading works at the Anjung Selera Terminal Corner food court here.
LC chief executive officer, Rithuan Ismail, said the project kicked off in May and is scheduled to be completed in June next year.
The open air food court, which is more than a decade old, is popular among youngsters, especially at night.
"We want to improve the facilities at the food outlet. We have identified several facilities for upgrading in the future," he told Bernama earlier today (June 23).
The Anjung Selera Terminal Corner, formerly known as Siswazah Corner, is aimed at helping local graduates to run food business.
Rithuan said the project would involve the construction of roofs to turn the food court into a covered premise.
"The roofs will provide comfort for the food operators and customers alike during the daytime," he said.
Rithuan said other facilities like a walkway into the premise will be built while the stalls would also be spruced up.
