Don’t spread unverified info: DBKK
A screengrab from the clip that has gone viral.
Kota Kinabalu: City Hall (DBKK) urged the public to refrain from spreading unverified information received via social media.

This came after a clip showing unsanitary food handling purportedly taken at the general market here that went viral on Sunday.

The two-minute video footage showed a man washing a basket of what seemed to be salted fish in a puddle of filthy water.

The incident was allegedly caught on camera behind the general market, according to the clip’s accompanying message.

The public was outraged by the individual’s acts and requested the authorities to investigate and take proper punishment if the incident did actually occur.

DBKK, in a statement uploaded on its Facebook page, said their inspections found the surrounding area at the market place totally different from the background taken in the clip.

The public are urged to reach out to DBKK to channel complaints or for any inquiry via WhatsApp at 012-2220220.
