Kota Kinabalu: Due to temporary closure of the Pekan Maternal and Child Health Clinic (KKIA Pekan), its services will be transferred to the UTC Health Clinic here starting July 1.

State Health Director Dr Asits Sanna said a small part of KKIA Pekan’s services will also be temporarily transferred to a nearby health clinic.

“Services provided include healthcare for expectant mothers, postnatal care, women’s health and family planning, healthcare for children including child check-ups, immunisations and jaundice checks,” he said in a statement, Friday. 

He explained that KKIA Pekan was closed temporarily since June 1 to make way for repair works which are expected to complete by the end of this year. 

“The State Health Department calls on customers involved with Pekan KKIA services to adhere to appointments at designated facilities to avoid overcrowding and to be patient until the clinic’s repair work is completed,” he said.

Dr Asits hoped the maternal and child health services provided will continue to benefit the local community.
