Kota Kinabalu: After Daily Express recently reported on MYAirlines fitting lightweight slim seats on their aircraft to cut down on aviation fuel costs, Malaysia Airlines economy class frequent flyers noted that as from July, the cushier economy class seats that they were accustomed to, on Boeing 737-800 flights between Kuala Lumpur and the state capital, were replaced by slimmer cushion seats.
Daily Express checked on the matter and found that the entertainment display screens that were fitted onto the previous cushier seats are not available on the new slim seats, so passengers have to use their own mobile devices to access the entertainment channels provided by the airline, by assessing or downloading the connection vide their mobile device’s Wi-Fi.
Passengers are instructed to access the wireless in-flight entertainment “at their fingertips” by activating the flight mode of their own mobile devices.
