TAMBUNAN: The Kasih Keluarga Madani: Keluarga@Kerja roadshow is one of the government’s efforts to help women be more sensitive to personal healthcare, apart from the aspect of family institutions, said the Chief Minister’s wife, Datin Seri Datuk Hajah Juliah Salag.
She said the programme this year is a continuation of the series’ fifth exploration after launching in Sulaman, Tuaran on March 3, 2022, to cater to target groups throughout the area. She said the Roadshow Program would be making state tour according to selected State constituencies for the benefit of the people.
“It focuses on the development and strengthening of family institutions as well as increasing knowledge about women’s reproductive health.
“This year, the programme is run simultaneously with the cancer awareness and women’s reproductive health campaign (WCaRe) conducted by the Population and National Family Development Board (LPPKN).
“The Sabah LPPKN has established a very solid cooperation with the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah Wife of People’s Representatives (Mutiara GRS) for further expanding family and reproductive health services throughout Sabah by organising this program,” she said when officiating the programme in conjunction with the 2023 WCaRe day at the Pisompuruan Square Open House, here, on Monday.
Juliah, who is also the President of Mutiara GRS, said the programme would also be a platform to related parties, especially LPPKN to know closely problems or community needs at the grassroots level, especially women outside the city.
She said various services are provided in the programme, including a family education, LPPKN Mobile Family to provide clinical advice, health screenings and free mammogram screening for eligible women.
She said the implementation of the roadshow benefits participants through the sharing session that has been delivered by certified officers and experts in the aspect of family and health.
“I hope there will be more women, especially mothers, housewives or those who work to spend time in attending this very useful programme, and together protect, defend and strengthen the institution of the family as a fortress and the pillar of social stability,” she said.
