Trio seriously hurt as car lands on water plant compound
The ill-fated vehicle after the accident.
RANAU: A man and two women were seriously injured when their vehicle crashed and overturned into a water plant compound, near here, Tuesday.

Head of the BBP Ranau Station, PPgB Ridwan Mohd Taib said, the incident happened at the Mesilau Kundasang Ranau Water Plant at 6.20pm.

“A call was received through the Station Line and six personnel led by Operations Commander, PBK II Becket Gumat rushed to the location along with a FRT Fire engine and an EMRS engine.

“Arriving at the scene 25km from the station, we found that there had been an accident involving a red double-cab vehicle that lost control and plunged into the water plant compound in Mesilau.

“There are three victims involved, one man and two women. The man and women were successfully removed from the vehicle and rushed to the hospital by members of the public before the arrival of the Fire Department,” he said.

According to Ridwan, the Fire Department made inspections around the location and after making sure that there was no more danger, the operation ended at about 7pm.

Meanwhile, he called on all motorists to be extra careful when driving across the district, especially on narrow and bending village roads.

“People are asked to be more careful when driving in rainy weather conditions as well as damaged or under-repaired roads.

“Always be attentive while on the road and give good cooperation to other road users. Do drive slowly especially when on uneven roads.

“Drive prudently and be sensitive to the surrounding conditions, because we all want to reach our destination safely and meet our beloved family,” he said.
