Syabu: Jobless Filipino charged
Fredley Justine allegedly stole a Kia Forte at Taman Formosa Penampang on April 8 this year as framed under Section 379A of the Penal Code.
Kota Kinabalu: An unemployed Filipino was tentatively charged in the Court, here, Wednesday with drugs trafficking.

No plea was recorded from Anhar Idjal, 22, who was brought before Court Registrar Rita Kunsoi.

Anhar was accused of trafficking 50.81gm of syabu at 11.40am on June 27, this year in a bush near the drug den in Kg Lok Buno, Sepanggar.

The charge under Section 39B(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act carries a punishment of either the death penalty or life in prison and whipping with a minimum of 15 strokes, on conviction.

In another case, a 41-year-old jobless man was charged with stealing a car.

No plea was taken from Fredley after the charge was read to him via Zoom.

The court fixed Aug 7 for Fredley’s plea to be taken at the Magistrate’s Court and was ordered to be further remanded as he was charged under a serious offence.

Meanwhile, a 36-year-old man was charged with keeping a stolen car.

No plea was recorded from Md Shaamir Md Ibrahim, who allegedly kept the stolen Kia Forte at 9.30pm on May 30, at the car park of Taman Bukit Setia, Sepanggar.

Charged under Section 411 of the Penal Code, the accused was also ordered to be remanded pending his appearance at the Magistrate’s Court on Aug 14.

In the same court, two men were separately charged with keeping stolen items.

Faisal Jailani, 28, was accused of keeping a pair of stolen gold earrings belonging to Christine Elvira at 6.30pm on July 4 in a house at Kg Delima, Sepanggar.

Hearil Shah Nordin, 36, allegedly keeping a stolen Nissan Vanette van belonging to Syarikat Percetakan CCS Sdn Bhd at 5pm on July 2 at a workshop at Kg Pangasaan, Jalan Bantayan Inanam.

No plea was recorded from them.

The court set July 20 and July 27 for mention of Faisal’s and Hearil’s cases respectively.

Faisal, who has no identification document, was ordered to be remanded further while Hearil was offered bail at RM1,500 fully deposited in two sureties.
