RANAU: The Mount Kinabalu Search and Rescue Team (Mosar) had to act quickly after a 44-year old local woman was injured during a climb on Mount Kinabalu after she mis-stepped on a rock here on Friday.
Head of Fire and Rescue Ranau Station, PPgB Ridwan Bin Mohd Talib, said the incident happened in Km 7.1 near Sayat Sayat Point of the Kinabalu climbing trail at about 8.40am.
“We received a call informing about the incident and rushed a team of eight Mosar personnel led by Operation Officer, PBK II Mastin Suli along with three Malim Gunung and a Park Ranger to the location situated 600 metres away.
“When we arrived, we found that a Malaysian climber had sprained her right ankle. PBB Mosar acted to take the victim to Panalaban Substation to provide initial treatment.
