Mishap: Lucky escape for woman
Tuaran: A 42-year-old woman (pic) has her lucky stars to thank after surviving a 200-metre crash into a ravine near the Jalan Kg Kiwoi intersection at Kg Bawang, Tamparuli, here, Tuesday. 

Juliana Guntok was driving her Perodua Kancil when the accident happened at 9.25am.

Tuaran District Fire and Rescue Station Chief Abdul Qawie Abdul Gapar said they were alerted about the accident at about 9.27am. 

A 10-member team was deployed to the scene where they found the victim trapped in the car, necessitating the employment of specialised tools for the rescue effort.

“The woman, who sustained bodily injuries, was given early aid by the team before being sent to the Tuaran Hospital in an ambulance,” he said. 

The team proceeded to inspect the area and the wreckage for any other danger.

The operation ended at 2.35pm. The cause of accident is still being probed.
