LABUAN: Member of Parliament Datuk Suhaili Abdul Rahman said Tan Sri Anifah Aman has made a “good start” as Chairman of Labuan Corporation by approving a 50 per cent discount on rental rates of 178 stalls at the Urban Transformation Centre (UTC).
Thus, he hoped landlords would emulate this gesture by also giving rental discount for commercial properties until the economy recovers.
“I made a survey and found many tenants engaged in retail trade struggling to make ends meet due to poor sales.
As such, landlords of old premises which had been fully paid up should provide these tenants some relief with a discounted rental.
