Kota Kinabalu: A total of 799,782 needy Sabahans are set to benefit from the Rahmah Cash Handout assistance totalling RM696.3 million, said Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor.
He said the Federal Government initiative, involving an allocation of up to RM8 billion, aims to reduce burdensome living costs faced by some 8.7 million recipients nationwide and will be done in stages.
In Sabah, Hajiji said a total of RM494 million has been cashed out over three phases so far, while the remaining RM202 million will be cashed out in the next phase this November.
