Kota Kinabalu: City Hall is going all out in its war against cockroaches, flies, rats and mosquitoes in a campaign named LiLaTiN.
City Hall Director Junainah Abbie said it would be officiated by Mayor Datuk Noorliza Awang Alip at 7am tomorrow (Saturday) at the parking lot near Wisma Bandaraya here.
Junainah said City Hall would again be buying rats, dead or alive, at RM1 per head.
Lilatin, which takes initials of the rodents and pests in the Malay language is a continuation of City Hall’s control programmes.
“Campaigning this time round will be taking a more intensive approach in warning the public of the dangers of Lilatin and the shared responsibility in preventing and eradicating them.
“With the slogan ‘Destroy LiLaTiN’, the campaign is a component of the Love Healthy KK programme network in line with Sustainable Development Goals,” she said.
She urged the public to support the campaign which has a host of activities, including health-related pamphlet distribution, public clean-ups, tracking and sealing rat burrows, eatery inspections, toilet ratings and anti-littering by-law enforcement.
