PENAMPANG: Natives of Sabah and Sarawak will form the third biggest ethnic group in Malaysia should they collectively agree to generally come under “Dayak”.
This was espoused by a panel of speakers at the United Nations International Day of the World’s Indigenous People held at the Hongkod Koisaan, KDCA, on Aug 8.
It marked the date of the inaugural session of the Working Group on Indigenous Populations in 1982.
Sabah Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Dr Jeffrey Kitingan said would also mean that East Malaysian native minorities are not fragmented and become a third force.
