Kota Kinabalu: Kian Kok Secondary School became 2023 Student Forum champs at the State level.

Chiara Glycee Rayner, Alexis Chin Li Mei, Stephy Tsen Yung Yi and Shan Kha Man bagged the Chief Minister’s Cup, RM200 each, trophy, book published by Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka (DBP) and certificate.

Runner-up went to SM Tshung Tsin followed by SM Tshung Tsin Tenom.

Sabah Chinese High School, Tawau, SM Lahad Datu and SM Yu Yuan, Sandakan won consolations.

State Industrial Development and Entrepreneurs Minister, Phoong Jin Zhe said the competition educate the students about the importance of using the national language correctly regardless of  their races and backgrounds.

“The command of the language used in the competition is very good and as Malaysians, we should respect the national language. Learning the national language is a responsibility as a citizen because it will not affect our identity and culture,” he said after officiating the programme at Dewan SM Tshung Tsin.
