NABAWAN: Community leaders such as the Chairman of the Village Development Committee (JPKK) play an important role in channelling information from the grassroots to the government.
Nabawan Assemblyman Datuk Abdul Ghani Mohamed Yassin said channelling of accurate information from grassroots leaders is essential to enable development planning well planned.
This, he said, is very vital as a preparation for this district to welcome the development following the relocation of the Indonesia capital to Kalimantan which borders Bantul Village Pagalungan sub-district.
Ghani, who is also the Chairman of the Sabah Land Development Board (SLDB), said the district is witnessing infrastructure development such as upgrade project in Sepulut to Pagalungan which would connect to the Bantul Immigration, Customs, Quarantine and Security (CIQ) complex that cost more than RM300 million.
