Plane crash probe findings to be made public, says Loke
Ten people were killed when the light aircraft crashed onto the Guthrie Highway near Bandar Elmina in Selangor yesterday afternoon.
PETALING JAYA: The findings of the Air Accident Investigation Bureau’s (AAIB) probe into the plane crash near Bandar Elmina in Selangor yesterday will be made public, says transport minister Loke Siew Fook.

Loke said AAIB has been ordered to hold a thorough and immediate probe, and its findings will be disclosed to the public as soon as possible.

“All the results of the investigation will be announced transparently. We will not hide any facts, all the facts obtained will be announced to the public,” Bernama quoted him as saying.

He said the cockpit voice recorder of the light aircraft that crashed was sent to the bureau this morning for analysis.

Loke urged the public not to speculate on the cause of the crash and to give the victims’ next of kin the privacy they need.

The light aircraft, with eight on board, including two crew members, crashed onto the Guthrie Highway yesterday afternoon. The driver of a car and a motorcyclist were also killed after they were hit by the crashing plane.

The Beechcraft Model 390 plane was travelling from Langkawi International Airport to Subang airport when it crashed at about 2.50pm.
