Kota Kinabalu: The Stella Maris Kindergarten (TSM) at Tanjung Aru near here held its Family Day at the La Salle Secondary School hall, Saturday.
The highlight of the Day was a Telematch participated by both the 155 pupils and their parents.
Headmistress Sr Lucy A Embayan said this year’s Family Day also coincided with the National Day or Merdeka which falls on Aug 31 and Malaysia Day on Sept 16.
In line with this, pupils were asked to come dressed in their traditional costumes which reflects unity in diversity.
Of course there was singing of the National and State Anthems as well as the school song.
Last year’s Family Day was held at the kindergarten grounds. No Family Day was held during the Covid-19 pandemic years.
Handsome prizes were on hand for the Lucky Draw and the proceeds will go to the kindergarten’s building maintenance fund.
Parents also donated some of the prizes.
TSM’s Chairman, Justine Paujik was represented by his Vice-Chairman, Willon Justin Sikul who officiated the Family Day.
The function ended with a Gotong Royong to tidy up the hall.
