Kota Kinabalu: Parti Warisan Deputy President Datuk Darell Leiking said the party will only reveal its proposal to deal with the problem of high absolute poverty incidence in rural areas in the State as well as its plan to strengthen Mini Estet Sejahtera (Mesej) programme when the next State Election (PRN) is around.
“We should give GRS the remaining two more years to prove their capabilities and while we are entitled to receive our shares from the Federal Government as stipulated under MA63 and in consideration of our oil and gas, it is up to the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) if they want to continue requesting billions of ringgit from the Federal Government to fund ineffective absolute poverty eradication programmes in the State,” he said.
Darell said Warisan generally understand the reason why absolute poverty incidence is high at several districts in the State as well as the weaknesses on some of GRS’s initiatives such as Mesej.
