Kota Kinabalu: A man was charged with committing physical sexual harassment against his 14-year-old cousin.
The man pleaded not guilty before Sessions Court Judge Elsie Primus, Wednesday.
He is accused of committing the offence against the girl by pulling her hands to touch his private part.
The alleged incident took place at 6.24pm on May 10 this year at a house in Kota Belud.
The offence under Section 14(b) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017 provides for a jail term of up to 20 years, and whipping, on conviction.
The court set Sept 29 this year for pre-trial case management and released on bail of RM15,000 with RM5,000 deposited in two local sureties.
The court also impose several conditions, including reporting to the Kota Belud police station twice a month and not to tamper with the prosecution witnesses, especially the alleged victim.
Deputy Public Prosecutor Jessica Ombou Kakayun prosecuted while counsel Nabila Norsahar represented the man.
