Kota Kinabalu: The Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN) Eastern Fleet celebrated Malaysia Day and 90th Malaysian Armed Forces Day with an open day, which recorded more than 20,000 visitors.

The carnival titled “Bah Kano”, in Kadazan Dusun language, carries the meaning of “lets go”.

Officiating at the event, Eastern Fleet Commander, Vice Admiral Dato’ Pahlawan Muhammad Ruzelme Ahmad Fahimyand, said the Bah Kano Eastern Fleet Carnival was a rebrand from just an RMN “open day” title.

“The use of native language brings a narrative that the Eastern Fleet’s duties are not only safeguarding Sabah’s waters but also proud to be part of the local community.
