Kota Kinabalu: A 52-year-old man who trespassed into the store of a house belonging to his former employer was jailed three months.
Magistrate Lovely Natasha Charles meted out the sentence to Justiful Sipaji who pleaded guilty, Thursday.
He had broken into the store belonging to a 33-year-old man at 8am on May 10 at Taman Seri Gaya, here.
The offence under Section 448 of the Penal Code carries a jail term of up to three years, or fine of up to RM5,000, or both, on conviction.
The court ordered Justiful to serve the sentence from the date of his arrest.
The court heard that the complainant realised that his bicycle was missing and found out that the store was locked from inside and he kicked open the door and saw Justifal inside without clothes.
The complainant then called the police.
Investigation revealed that Justifal worked with the complainant's family before.
In another case, a man was jailed a week and fined RM2,000 in default seven month's jail for stealing 35 chairs valued RM1,225.
