Burglary suspect held in Tawau
TAWAU: A suspect in a burglary case was arrested at a roadside house at Km 50 Check Point on Friday.

Tawau District Police Chief ACP Jasmin Hussin said the 38-year-old local was arrested by a Crime Prevention Patrol (RCJ) team from the Sri Indah Police Station (BSI) at 5pm.

He said the team led by Deputy Police Chief SI Parlis Jaramman spotted the suspect in front of the house.

“Aware of the police presence, the suspect attempted to escape to a nearby bush but failed.

“The man was taken to Tawau police station for further action,” he said.

He said a number of items were also seized from the suspect for further investigation under Section 457 of the Penal Code and whether the suspect was involved in other cases.
