Kota Kinabalu: The overwhelming success of the Sabah International Expo (SIE) 2023 held for the first time at the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC) may see it repositioned to be an annual event from its biennial tradition during pre-Covid years.
For the first time the Sabah Government under Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Hajiji Mohd Noor supported SIE as an organiser and sponsor for the State dinner and business luncheon talk for dignitaries and delegates, besides setting up a Sabah Pavilion with the participation of many local businesses.
The SIE2023 Chairman of the organising committee was handed to Minister of Industrial Development and Entrepreneurship Phoong Jin Zhe with the previous co-chairmen FSI President Richard Lim and MICCI Sabah Chairman Datuk Lee Swi Heng assisting Phoong as deputy co-chairmen after the Sabah Government designated SIE 2023 as a State business event.
