Kota Kinabalu: A jobless was charged with committing physical sexual harassment against a girl.
Azmey Lamsain pleaded not guilty before Sessions Court Judge Elsie Primus, to the charge against him on Tuesday.
He is accused of committing the offence against the 13-year-old girl by fondling her breasts.
The incident allegedly took place at 9.30pm on June 8, 2019 at a house in Kota Belud.
He was charged under Section 14(a) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017 which provides for a jail term of up to 20 years, and whipping, on conviction.
The court set Nov 7 this year for mention and released Azmey on a bail of RM15,000 in two local sureties.
He was also ordered to report to the nearest police station twice a month and his passport, if any, to be kept by the court until the disposal of his case.
Deputy Public Prosecutor Siti Hajar Mazlan appeared for the prosecution while Azmey was not represented.
