Kota Kinabalu: Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor has refuted the allegation of power abuse in approving a land deal in Kudat.
“The accusations are ill-intended, politically motivated and aimed at smearing my name. My office will give full cooperation to any investigation on the allegation,” he said in a statement, Monday.
Hajiji said all applications go through the necessary procedures through the Land Utilisation Committee (LUC) meeting and are processed at the office.
“The application for the Yayasan Sabah land has been referred to the Innoprise Corporation Sdn Bhd’s Board of Directors, and everything was done according to the law,” he said in response to the allegation in social media.
Investigation will be done and appropriate action will be taken against the officer(s) who released confidential documents that had been used to make the allegation, he said.
He said the authorities were alerted to a Facebook account, which posted the allegation to tarnish his reputation.
“I will consult my lawyers to initiate legal action,” he said.
Meanwhile, Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah (Gagasan Rakyat) Information Chief Datuk Nizam Abu Bakar Titingan described the allegation made in a Facebook post as a serious attempt to tarnish the good name of the Chief Minister.
He said the claims were filled with fabricated facts, adding a check with the Sabah Land and Survey Department showed all land applications had been processed in accordance with the existing procedures and laws.
“In fact, no land title was issued to the four land applications mentioned in the said Facebook post.
“The Facebook post also claimed that the businessman involved was seen to have a close relationship with Hajiji so there must be something suspicious, but the businessman was also seen to be close to former Chief Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal, who is also Warisan President, before.
“There is something wrong. Since the opposition cannot touch on the State Government’s success in attracting high impact investors to Sabah, they used dirty and disgusting tactics to damage the image of the Chief Minister,” he said in a statement, Monday.
He added a police report will be made against the Facebook page so that an investigation can be carried out to bring to justice the party responsible for spreading lies.
