Motorcyclist killed in Tuaran crash

Tuaran: A foreigner, Syair Sukma, 45, was killed when his motorcycle crashed into a tree at 7.55am on Jalan Impian Jadi, Thursday.

District Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) Chief Abdul Qawie Abdul Gapar said his department received an emergency call regarding the incident at 7.58am and dispatched nine Fire and Rescue personnel with one machine and one utility vehicle of the Emergency Service Assistance Unit (EMRS).

“Upon arrival, the Fire and Rescue personnel found the victim and believed the accident happened while the victim was riding a motorcycle,” he said.

“The Fire and Rescue personnel cut and removed the tree stump but the victim was confirmed dead,” he added.

Abdul Qawie said the body was sent to Tuaran Hospital by police forensics personnel for further action.

“After making sure there was no other danger around the location, the operation ended at 9.45am,” he said.
