Kota Kinabalu: Kudat town was flooded for the first time on Jan. 12, 2021 as shops were inundated with few feet of water.
Some environmental activists said such flooding was unusual and blamed climate change and human activities.
Kudat’s sea-side location means the flooding was compounded by the rise of sea levels —- another outcome of climate change.
Former Senator Datuk Naomi Chong said her brother’s textile shop along Little Street was under several feet of water, with power failure.
