Kota Kinabalu: Tourism players, politicians and the public supported the government’s decision to replace Sabah’s east coast dust-to-dawn sea curfew with the Movement Control Order (MCO).
In general, the people described the move as the most logic decision made by the Federal Government as recommended by the relevant government agencies and departments in safeguarding the welfare and interest of Malaysia, particularly in the security and economic aspects.
Last Monday, the Eastern Sabah Security Zone (Esszone) said the MCO will come into effect after the Sabah sea curfew expires at 6pm on Tuesday (Oct 17).
Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain said this was decided following the latest security assessment by the National Security Council, Home Ministry and Sabah Government.
