Sabah Fruit Seminar in Tenom October 31
Lawrence Ting (centre) urges farmers to get MyGap certification.
Kota Kinabalu: Local farmers have been urged to prioritise health and safety in their farming activities to expand their markets.

The Sabah Fruit Farmers Association (SFFA) said that farmers must adhere to the Malaysian Good Agricultural Practice (MyGap) to enable their produce to reach both domestic and overseas markets.

Its President, Dato’ Lawrence Ting, said currently most local farmers do not meet MyGap requirements, making it difficult for their produce to be exported in the future.

To address this issue, SFFA and Persatuan Pekebun Kecil Daerah Tenom will jointly organise a Tenom farmers’ seminar on Oct 31 at Yih Foh Coffee Park Hall from 8am to 1:40pm.
