BONGAWAN: The Federal Government through the Economic Planning Unit (EPU) allocated RM200,000 for the implementation of small developments in Bongawan this year.
Assemblyman Dr Daud Yusof said the allocation was fully used for small projects including education fund assistance to 22 schools.
“From this amount, RM50,000 was channelled to all the Parent and Teacher Associations (PTAs) of schools in Bongawan involving 19 primary schools and three secondary schools.
“This allocation is to help fund PTA educational activities including small-scale renovation works for the school facilities involved,” he said after presenting RM50,000 to the school’s PTA representative, on Tuesday.
Dr Daud, who is also Vice President of Parti Warisan Sabah (Warisan) said the remaining RM150,000 will be used for small projects which benefit the people, including donations to youth associations in the area.
He said the EPU allocation was the first to be accepted and he was very grateful to the Unity Government.
“This is the first we receive and we are grateful to the federal government, especially the EPU under the Ministry of Rural and Regional Development.
“I hope there will be more allocation to develop Bongawan, especially the public facilities that need a lot of repairs,” he said.
