TAWAU: A five-door workers’ quarters was destroyed in a fire at Kg Sungai Imam Lorong 10, here, Saturday morning. 

Tawau Fire and Rescue Station (FRD) Chief Jemishin Ujin said a 14-member team on three fire engines were deployed to the scene upon receiving a call at 8.52am.

He said the non-permanent quarters measuring 25 x 50 feet was completely burnt.

“Upon arriving, our team immediately carried out extinguishing operations using water from the fire engine tanks to prevent the fire from spreading,” he said.

He added that no one was injured in the incident and the cause and losses are under investigation.
