SIPITANG: The road from Kg Meligan to Sipitang should be repaired immediately as it is posing a danger to road users.
A motorist, Makku Ontoro from Kg Meligan, expressed his disappointment with the condition of road, especially from Sipitang to Long Pasia.
“The road is muddy and slippery and makes it difficult to avoid hitting oncoming logging trucks,” he said.
The location of the muddy road is along Bukit Payau-Kg Mendulong-Ulu Bol and is a connecting road between Kg Long Pasia and Sipitang town.
“It is only appropriate for the contractor to maintain and repair the road for the benefit of the community and residents who ply the road daily, he said.
Makku said the road condition also make it difficult for residents to transport their agricultural products, especially vegetables which are perishable.
He urged Sipitang Member of Parliament Datuk Matbali Musah and Sindumin Assemblyman Datuk Dr Yusoff Yaacob to bring the matter up with the authorities and rectify the problem soon.
