Upko proposes 60:40 power sharing at grassroots level

Kota Kinabalu: The State Government need not wait until the election to implement power sharing in the appointment of grassroots leaders in Sabah, said Libaran Upko head Dr Peter Jr Naintin.

He said Kadamaian Assemblyman Datuk Ewon Benedick had implemented “60:40 power-sharing formula” in the Kadamaian constituency and should serve as an example for the rest.

“To prove that there is sincerity and political cooperation between GRS-PH at the grassroots level, it is very important for the State Government to implement the 60:40 formula.

“Not wait until the 2025 state election.  The power-sharing policy can be implemented for the unity of the people,” he said.
