PETALING JAYA: The police will beef up Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim’s security after he disclosed that he was threatened over his criticisms of the Israeli government.
According to Bernama, Inspector-General of Police Razarudin Husain said the police will not compromise on Anwar’s safety.
“The security of the prime minister is our top priority,” he said.
However, Razarudin said the threats may be related to economic measures.
Last night, Anwar revealed that he received multiple threats from Western countries over his criticisms of the Israeli government following the war in Gaza.
Anwar said this in his speech at a rally held in solidarity with the people of Palestine.
He said Malaysia would continue to support Palestine and that he would not be intimidated by threats.
