Kota Kinabalu: Inspire Karate Club dominated the recent LBH Karate KK Open Championship to be crowned overall champions.
The club outperformed nine other teams including one from the Philippines after bagging 24 golds, 13 silvers and 19 bronzes throughout the competition held on Oct 20 to 22 at Manggatal Community Hall.
Karatekas Lysandra Jackry Kitingon (Tadika Pen Yu, Kuala Penyu), Aisyah Zahra Akop @ Awang (SK St Joseph, Papar), Dhia Adelia Nadhira Abdul Kadir (SK St Joseph, Papar), Brittany Angel Rasiah (SK St Joseph, Papar), Aeywa Alnicoletta Walter Glen (SJKC Cheng Hwa, Papar), Amber Alley Walter Glen (SJKC Cheng Hwa, Papar), Nurjannah Redzuan along with schoolmate Elcy Sheryn Lai (SK Surati, Papar) won gold in the Girls Kumite categories (12 years and below).
Adam Zaidan Abdul Kadir (SK St Joseph, Papar) won two golds while teammates Daniel Faith (SK St Joseph, Papar), Arif Aqil and Arif Muiz (SK Benoni, Papar) also made the same achievement in the Boys Kumite categories (12 years and below).
