Theft from construction site: Two women among 13 held
Some of the 13 arrested.
Kota Kinabalu: Thirteen people, including two women, were arrested after being caught red-handed stealing building materials from a Tanjung Lipat home construction site.

Kota Kinabalu Police Chief ACP Mohd Zaidi Abdullah said two foreigners were among those apprehended, aged between 25 and 49.

The arrests were made at 3.15pm on Oct 30. 

According to preliminary investigation, the building site has been abandoned for the past six years.

Police went to the site after a public tip where they discovered the group disassembling construction supplies such as wires, aluminium rods, cables, door/window frames and pipes, among other things. 

Police believe they have solved two theft cases reported on October 28 at a construction site.

Mohd Zaidi reminded the public that trespassing and removing objects or equipment from any construction area, including abandoned house construction sites, is a violation of Section 379 of the Penal Code.
