Driver charged with insulting modesty of woman
He was charged under Section 509 of the Penal Code which carries a jail term of up to five years or fine or both, on conviction.
Kota Kinabalu: A 34-year-old driver was charged in the Magistrate’s Court,  Friday, with insulting the modesty of a woman in Inanam, last year.

Rasip Astali, 34, pleaded not guilty before High Court Senior Assistant Registrar Romario Jonoi, who sat as a Magistrate, to masturbating with the intention that his act would be seen by the 25-year-old complainant.

Rasip allegedly committed the offence at 10.40am on Aug 13, 2022 at the car park in front of a clinic at Inanam Terminal.

He was charged under Section 509 of the Penal Code which carries a jail term of up to five years or fine or both, on conviction.

Jafri Nasri, 29, admitted to cutting the copper cable belonging to Telekom Malaysia at 5pm on Oct 30, this year at the junction to Jalan Pintas DBKK, Tuaran Bypass, here.

The charge under Section 431A of the Penal Code carries a jail term of up to two years or fine or both, on conviction.

According to the prosecution, Jafri’s act was seen by the complainants, who then detained him and seized the cutting tools found with him.

Duty counsel Lim Ming Zoong @ Lawrence, representing Jafri, requested a lenient sentence.
