Upko discord on what Anwar meant

PUTATAN: The Unity Government’s stand on the Palestine-Israel conflict is not about supporting Hamas but the humanitarian issue involving Palestinian civilians, said Minister of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperative, Datuk Ewon Benedick.

He said he doesn’t remember Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim ever declaring support for Hamas, as claimed by Upko Putatan division head Datuk Dr Marcus M. Mojigoh.

“What I remember is support for humanitarian values in the conflict.

“That’s why we help with the donation movement and help the community affected by the (war) conflict,” Ewon, who is also United Progressive Kinabalu Organisation (Upko) President, said at the re-activation of Upko Putatan Division in Kg Duvanson.
