LABUAN: The island’s only elected representative, MP Datuk Suhaili Abdul Rahman, should be given an appropriate post to help revive the bleak economy.

Suhaili, who is with opposition Bersatu, recently declared support for Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

Labuan Women’s Affairs Association chief Fauziah Datuk Din said the appointment of a local to a such post would be an honour lest the voters respond through the ballot box in the next election.

Fauziah believed Suhaili had the fundamentals to steer Labuan to better times given his past contributions to Labuan.
