Kota Kinabalu: Veteran tourism player Datuk Tan Kok Liang said there is a need for Malaysia to come out from its comfort zone and do a transformation for the country to main its competitiveness in the tourism sector.
He said Malaysia as well as all players in the industry should understand that the tourism involves many sectors like accommodation and transportation and many others.
It is also vital for Malaysia to seriously look into the issues like visa on arrival for foreign visitors, he added.
Tan, the immediate past president of Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents (Matta) stressed that tourism has many faces because it involves interlocking and interdependent tourism organised agencies.
