SEMPORNA: A man in his 40s succumbed to his injuries after his Toyota Hilux skidded off the road and landed on its side at Tagasan along Jalan Semporna-Tawau, on Wednesday.

State Fire and Rescue Department spokesperson said a team of Fire and Rescue personnel from Semporna Fire and Rescue station rushed to the scene upon receiving a distress call through MERS999 at 2.16pm.

The accident involved a Toyota Hilux which skidded off the road before landing on its side.

The team extracted the victim who was pinned on his seat, he said.

The victim was pronounced dead by medical team at the scene and his body was handed over to police for further action.
