Kota Kinabalu: A robust industry-academia synergy is crucial for aligning graduate skills with changing times, technology, and national needs.
Deputy Higher Education Minister Datuk Mohammad Yusof Apdal expressed hope for collaborative efforts among industry players in Sabah and Sarawak to enhance the competence and skills of future graduates.
He said that the ministry has allocated funds to Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) to hold an engagement programme with industry players. Yusof said this during the launch of the Education Department-Education Ministry-Industry Roundtable Discussion Series Programme for Borneo Zone held at the Sabah International Convention Centre.
“This programme is also one of the platforms to get input from the industry on the programmes offered, as well as the teaching and learning system in institutions of higher learning.
