SANDAKAN: Eight people, including three women and three children, were injured in a collision involving three vehicles - a Proton Saga, a Proton Waja and an Isuzu Dmax - at Batu 11, here, Monday.
Five people comprising a man, a woman and three children were travelling in the Saga, while two men and an elderly woman were travelling in the Dmax.
All eight were able to safely exit the vehicles with assistance from the public before the Fire and Rescue team arrived.
Sandakan Fire and Rescue Station Chief Severinus Sainkui said a team was dispatched to the location some 13km away after receiving a distress call at 4.22pm.
The team provided first aid to the victims, who were then transported to the Duchess of Kent Hospital by ambulance, coordinated by the Health Ministry and the Civil Defence Force.
