Kuala Lumpur: Kepala Batas MP Siti Mastura Mohamad is standing by her claims against DAP chairman Lim Guan Eng at a recent political rally, including that of cousinhood between his father, DAP veteran Lim Kit Siang, and the late Communist Party of Malaya leader Chin Peng.

Mastura was questioned by the Bukit Aman classified crime investigation unit after police reports were lodged on her Nov 4 ceramah in Terengganu, where she alleged that Kit Siang and Guan Eng were also cousins of late Singapore prime minister Lee Kuan Yew, and that Seputeh MP Teresa Kok was a cousin of Betty Chew, Guan Eng’s wife.

The deputy chief of PAS’s women’s wing also alleged that a number of DAP leaders were blood relations of the Lim family.

Speaking to reporters outside Bukit Aman, the first-term MP confirmed receiving letters of demand from Kit Siang, Guan Eng, Chew and Kok.

“For now, my statement stands as is. Let the police investigate,” Mastura said when asked whether she would apologise.

“Whether the statement will be amended or retracted, or an apology issued… will be determined after we review them (letters of demand). We have just received them and haven’t had the opportunity to discuss the letters.

“Right now, there are no changes.”

She added that she had given the reference material on which she had based her speech to the police.

“Whether the material is relevant or not, we leave that to the police to determine,” she said.

Her lawyer, Ahmad Amzar Ahmad Azlan, said Mastura had given her full cooperation to the police and answered all of their questions.

Bukit Aman criminal investigation department chief Shuhaily Zain previously said that the case was being investigated under Section 505(b) of the Penal Code for statements leading to public alarm and distress, and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act for the improper use of network facilities or network services.
